  • Sanskrit Workshop
  • The first part of this workshop we will be focusing on the correct pronunciation of common asana names using Sanskrit. This is a great way for teachers to not only enhance their credibility as teachers but also gain confidence using Sanskrit in class with ease. Cheryl will be debunking common errors and providing you with a foundational understanding of how to properly use Sanskrit. This workshop will be focused on common asana names however, this is not limited to just teachers but anyone interested in learning more about Sanskrit is welcome to attend. The second part of this workshop will be an introduction to Vedic Chant. The vibrations produced by Vedic Chant have to potential to altar our psychological state and thereby improve our overall health and wellbeing. The veda-s are the foundational text of yoga philosophy. Using the same method or instruction that have been passed down for hundreds of generations we will explore listening and chanting as a direct experience of tapas (intensity) and dharanda (concentration). Although Sanskrit and Vedic Chant may seem very complex both are powerful and beautiful when understood in simplicity. These workshops are for anyone interested in learning more. You are welcome to attend one or both. All you need to bring is a curious mind, a notebook, and a pen.
